Beavers Bend State Park and the area are filled with a wide range of activities.Fly fishing on the Lower Mountain Fork river, hiking on the many trails, or attending one of the local festivals. Biking through the state park, along the river, is a great way to see mother nature. There are Canoe, kayak, jet ski, and boat rentals available through area rental companies. The Beavers Bend Depot and Stables offers horseback, train, and hay rides. The National Forest Visitor Center is located at the intersection of Hwy 259 and 259A.

Broken Bow Lake has roughly 180 miles of untouched shoreline. It spans around 20 miles and has some of the clearest and deepest water in the region. The lake is comprised of 14,000 acres and is surrounded by the piney Kiamichi wilderness. It has picturesque rocky cliffs, covered in stretching pines, jutting through the forest.

Fishing on the lake, you will have opportunities to reel in many types and species of fish. They include spotted bass, crappie, channel catfish, largemouth bass, small mouth bass, sunfish, and white bass. Fishing in the Lower Mountain Fork River, that below the lake dam, you can try your hand at catching some Rainbow Trout. The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation stock them on a regular basis. Broken Bow Lake has only one marina. Also, there are no permanent non-state park structures on the lake, which allows visitors to see mother nature untouched. There are several boat ramps available to launch from, at no cost. The U.S. Corps of Engineers manages the lake, maintaining a natural and pristine appeal. It is a big lake, so fishing guides are available to make your outings more worthwhile. Canoe, kayak, and inner tube rentals are available for those wishing to experience the crystal clear waters of the Lower Mountain Fork River. River trips take place east of Broken Bow. However, Beavers Bend State Park offers rentals that do not require seperate drop off and pick up areas.

The Beavers Bend Depot & Stables in beautiful Beavers Bend State Park offers the ride of a lifetime on a 1/3 size replica of the C.P. Huntington S.P. train built in 1863. With rides offered twice an hour, wind your way through Wahoo Hill and run through a tunnel before pulling back to the station. Riders often spot native wildlife.
